I’ve always been a guy who’s pretty excited and passionate about quite a few things in life, never just one big thing. But right now, creating powerful and creative video projects sure seems to be near the top of that list, along with dancing with my daughters, getting involved in community, and investing in relationships that really matter. My fascination with video production really began in 2006 when I spent a few months flying a 1961 Aircoupe across Canada, and taught myself just enough about videography, interviewing people and editing, to produce an amateur documentary about my adventures.
When I met my wife Kelly, one of the founders of FarmOn.com, I not only fell in love with her, but also with agriculture! The FarmOn Foundation is a charitable organization that supports more farmers to farm, by creating inspirational messages, meaningful social media conversations about the realities of farming, and short workshop videos that give farmers the tools and skills to succeed. In my full time job as Video Production Manager for FarmOn I get to explore my home province of Alberta, meeting incredible farmers and ranchers, hearing their inspiring stories and capturing their wisdom in videos that make a difference for farmers around the world.
As Kelly and I raise our family in this amazing rural community, we feel a deep commitment to supporting it and getting involved. Acting and singing together in community theatre was actually how we first met, as Jesus and one of the disciples in Jesus Christ Superstar. Recently, we played a key role in bringing the BVJ Small Town Saturday Night to Bashaw, which raised enough funds to create a brand new Arts Infusion program at the Bashaw School. Growing up we were both taught that’s it’s important to volunteer, but personally I think the real reason we volunteer with things like the junior all-breeds cattle shows, the Arts Infusion program, the Community Theatre Group, and the Volunteer Fire Department, is because it’s fun and they are all places where we feel like we belong.
I also have a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Carleton University, which will look great on the wall of my video editing studio if I ever get around to framing it, but no achievement could ever make me as proud as being a father to my two amazing girls.

Oop, sorry Ben. Didn’t mean to try to add a comment to your site, only to get in touch with you personally, which I thought the comment form was for.
Apologies,
